Our Shed

A place for men to craft independently or together, the West Wight work shed is comprised of a fully-equipped workshop and rest area. Whatever the project, our man shed can help turn ideas into tables, birdbaths and other creations.

Our Workshop

The workshop may look a little daunting for beginners, but collaboration is a running theme in our men’s shed. As you work across joint projects (or alone if you already know your stuff!), you will benefit from a community shed with all the tools a workman needs.

Our Rest Area

The rest area isn’t just where members can take a break. Our shed is a dedicated place for men to socialise and connect as this is key for mental health, so between cuppas and a good biscuit you’ll likely find a helping pair of hands to work with on projects. The rest area kitchen is equipped with a fridge, microwave and kettle so feel free to bring snacks or drinks that keep you going.

The rest area is ideal for West Wight men to bond and avoid loneliness, boosting their mental health

Outside

A former changing room, the work shed is on the edge of the green in the Totland Bay area.

The facility is a community hub for men to work on projects together or as a group
Next to the recreation ground, the communal workshop is available for shed club members Monday, Wednesday and Friday

What Do We Do Inside?

Our members work together on a variety of projects, and we also do volunteer work in the local West Wight community.
